Description

Buildit Postfix Concrete – Ready Mix Concrete for Fence Posts & Timber Posts

Overview

Standard building aggregates require manual mixing ratios, shovel work, and up to 24 to 48 hours of curing time before you can safely subject them to tension. Leaving a fresh fence run unsupported for that long risks having your posts knocked out of alignment by overnight wind loads or shifting soil. Buildit Postfix Concrete bypasses this waiting period entirely, providing an ultra-dense structural anchor that stabilizes your perimeter supports almost instantly.

Comprising a high-specification blend of premium Portland cement, targeted accelerator chemicals, and sharp grading sands, this formulation creates a highly durable, low-porosity concrete plug deep within the subsoil. It behaves as a rigid foundation jacket, evenly distributing the lateral load forces generated by high winds across the surrounding soil matrix to eliminate leaning or wobbling.

Key Features

  • Maximum Efficiencies On-Site: Speeds up your workflow significantly—by the time you dig your next post hole, the previous post is already locked firmly in place.

  • Advanced Water-Activated Matrix: The blended particles absorb liquid evenly from the bottom up, preventing dry unmixed pockets or weak internal voids.

  • Subterranean Frost Protection: Dries into a tight, durable cell structure that resists cracking and crumbling during extreme winter freeze-and-thaw cycles.

  • Eco-Conscious Packaging: The highly durable plastic bag prevents puncture tearing, reduces product waste, and can be handled easily in wet weather conditions.

The Method: Step-by-Step Installation

1.Dig the post hole:Step 1.

Dig your hole to the required depth (typically one-third of the total post height). Ensure the walls of the hole are straight and clean. As shown in technical guidelines, adding a 6-inch layer of gravel at the base assists with sub-surface drainage.

2.Add the water first:Step 2.

Fill the hole approximately one-third full with clean, cold water. Trade Secret: Pouring the water into the hole before adding the dry mix ensures complete saturation without unmixed dry powder gathering at the base.

3.Place post and pour mix:Step 3.

Position the fence post centrally in the hole. Pour the Buildit Postfix powder steadily into the water until it completely covers the liquid surface. The water will naturally wick up into the mix.

4.Plumb, check, and brace:Step 4.

Immediately tap down the surface with a piece of timber to eliminate trapped air bubbles. Check your alignments using a spirit level. Hold or brace the post firmly for 5 to 10 minutes until the initial chemical set locks it in place.

Quantity Guide Tip: For a standard 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 4″) fence post set into a standard 300mm x 600mm (24″) deep hole, you will require exactly 1 to 1.5 bags of Buildit Postfix. If you are installing heavy driveway gate posts or working in exceptionally soft, sandy soil conditions, increase the hole width and budget for 2 bags per post to provide a wider structural footprint.
