Description
Galvanised Panel Clip 50mm x 50mm – Fence Panel Fastening Accessory
Overview
Nailing or screwing a fence panel directly into a wooden post might seem fast, but it creates an incredibly weak structural joint. As seasonal winds buffet the fence, the timber fibers around the direct nail entry will chew open, split, and strip out, causing the panel to rattle loose or collapse completely. Our heavy-duty 50mm x 50mm Galvanised Panel Clips resolve this structural vulnerability by introducing a rigid metal sleeve between the timber components.
By distributing the sheer weight of the panel across multiple mechanical fixing points, these clips reduce localized stress on the wood cells. They serve as a highly efficient install platform, allowing contractors and DIY builders to slide panels cleanly into position and lock them down permanently in a fraction of the time.
Key Features
-
Eliminates Timber Splitting: Removes the need to drive fasteners at awkward angles through the fragile edge-grain of your fence panels.
-
Rattle-Reducing Grip Profile: The tight, square-faced profile hugs the panel frame closely, dramatically dampening noise vibrations during heavy gales.
-
Anti-Bleed Corrosion Shield: The premium zinc surface prevents ugly orange rust streaks from weeping down and permanently staining your treated timber.
-
Simple Maintenance Utility: If a fence panel gets damaged by a storm or a falling tree branch, you don’t need to smash the frame apart to remove it. Simply back out the screws from the brackets and slide the damaged panel out effortlessly.

Trade Installation & Fixing Allocation Guide
Pro Tip: To securely mount a standard 1.8m (6ft) high fence panel, you should always use exactly 4 to 6 panel clips per panel (2 or 3 distributed evenly on each side post).
The Professional Method: Use a spirit level to mark your horizontal lines across your timber posts first. Screw the brackets flat onto the inside face of your fence posts using exterior-grade, rust-resistant wood screws. Once the brackets are firmly anchored to the posts, drop your fence panel down into the U-shaped channels. Drive your final screws sideways through the pre-punched bracket holes straight into the panel framing. This method isolates your panel from ground-contact rot and completely eliminates wind wobble!
