Description
6ft x 1ft Timber Garden Trellis Panel | Square Open Mesh Fence Topper
Overview
Standard closeboard or lap-panel fences can sometimes feel imposing, sealing off natural light and making smaller outdoor seating spaces feel cramped. Our 6ft x 1ft Square Garden Trellis offers a beautiful design compromise. By mounting this low-profile panel directly onto the top of your existing fence line, you gain extra boundary height and security without blocking out the afternoon sun or casting deep shadows across your flowerbeds.
Milled from slow-grown, high-density softwood, our trellis panels feature thick, intersecting internal battens that are securely pinned together at every intersection. This cross-linked geometry distributes wind load forces cleanly, preventing the internal grid from rattling loose during autumn storms. The subtle green preservative tint blends seamlessly into natural garden backgrounds and matures beautifully over time.
Key Features
-
Instant Boundary Height Extensions: Easily increases a standard 5ft fence run to a full 6ft privacy barrier without the high cost of buying completely new fence panels.
-
Rebated Structural Framework: The internal mesh is nested deep inside an outer frame rim, completely eliminating exposed, raw edge joints that trap water.
-
Anti-Bleed Corrosion Shield: Constructed using rust-resistant, hot-dipped galvanised fixings that stop ugly orange streaks from ruining your timber panels.
-
Dual-Aspect Decorative Appeal: Designed symmetrically so that both you and your neighbors enjoy an identical, clean, professional view of the wood grain.

Trade Installation & Fitting Tip
Pro Tip: Installing this 1ft trellis panel as a fence topper can be done in two simple ways depending on your current post setup:
Method 1 (Slotted Concrete/Timber Posts): If your fence lines feature tall, slotted posts with extra overhead clearance, simply slide this 6ft wide trellis straight down the tracks so it rests directly on top of your primary fence panel.
Method 2 (Flush Timber Posts): If your wooden posts cut off flush with your current panels, you can extend them using Timber Post Extensions or cleats. Secure two structural wooden battens vertically to the back of your existing post joints, allowing them to project 1ft over the top line. Slide your trellis between these brackets and secure it firmly with high-torque exterior wood screws for a seamless finish.
