Description

Blue Circle Postcrete – Ready to Use Rapid Set Fence Post Concrete

Overview

Standard master-mix concrete options can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to reach a safe load-bearing capacity. Leaving a fresh line of fence bays unsupported for that long leaves your boundary highly vulnerable to shifting out of plumb from strong overnight winds or moving subsoil. Blue Circle Postcrete completely rewires your fencing workflow by providing an almost instant structural foundation block.

By combining high-specification Portland cement, targeted chemical setting accelerators, and precision-graded sharp sands, this trade-grade mix rapidly triggers an exothermic hydration reaction. It seals tightly against the subterranean faces of your posts, creating a stable, low-porosity concrete sleeve that protects your posts against ground lateral forces and harsh winter frost cycles.

Key Features

  • Maximum Efficiency On-Site: Greatly accelerates trade or domestic landscaping timelines—by the time you dig your next hole, your previous post is already locked firm.

  • Excellent Dynamic Penetration: The dry powder filters evenly down through the water column, preventing weak, dry pockets or hollow air bubbles at the base of the hole.

  • Sub-Surface Wood Defense: Forms a rigid concrete jacket that stabilizes timber, preventing localized subterranean wobbling that splits wood fibers.

  • Tough, Waste-Saving Bags: Designed to withstand rough trade handling and wet British weather, keeping the product fresh and active.

The Method: Instant Post Installation

1.Dig the post hole:Step 1.

Dig your hole to the calculated depth (usually one-third of the total post height). Ensure the side walls are straight and clean. Dropping a 2-inch layer of fencing ballast or gravel at the base will greatly assist with lower drainage.

2.Pour in water first:Step 2.

Fill the hole approximately one-third full with clean, cold water. Crucial Trade Rule: Always pour your water into the hole before adding the powder. This guarantees complete water infiltration without trapping dry unmixed flour at the bottom.

3.Place post and empty bag:Step 3.

Position your timber or concrete post centrally inside the hole. Pour the Blue Circle Postcrete powder steadily and uniformly around the post until the dry mix covers the surface of the water.

4.Plumb and stabilize:Step 4.

Gently tap the surface of the concrete with a rod or timber offcut to release any trapped air bubbles. Check your alignments using a post level. Hold the post completely still for 5 to 10 minutes until the initial set takes over.

Quantity Allocation Tip: For a standard 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 4″) timber post set into an industry-standard 300mm wide by 600mm deep hole, you will require exactly 1 bag of Blue Circle Postcrete. If you are hanging heavy, high-torque driveway gates, or working in exceptionally loose, sandy coastal soils, increase your hole diameter slightly and budget for 2 bags per post to build a wider structural footprint.
